20,000 and counting for McLaren

McLaren is a name synonymous with automotive elegance, style and performance. It’s therefore fantastic to see the brand achieve the significant milestone of producing its 20,000th vehicle at its McLaren Production Centre.
Rolling out from the manufacturer’s Woking facility this month, this landmark model is a right-hand drive 600LT Spider in Chicane Grey from the brand’s Sports Series line-up.
A major milestone for McLaren
“Achieving our 20,000th car built is an important milestone for McLaren Automotive,” commented chief executive officer Mike Flewitt. “While demand for our products continues to grow, we aim to balance that to maintain exclusivity for our brand and our customers.”
Mr Flewitt went on to add that “it is fitting that we celebrate this achievement with a 600LT Spider”, given the model’s “huge success” in boosting demand for the marque.
Overall, the brand’s annual production volume rose to 4,800 in 2018, with output expected to exceed 5,000 units in the coming years.
The McLaren Production Centre opened in July 2011 and has taken eight years to achieve this major milestone. The marque now hopes to achieve its next big target of 50,000 models that much quicker.
Jess Wort, marketing manager at Drivers Club News, comments: “McLaren is one of the most popular marques in global automotive, so to see the brand going from strength to strength and to continually produce models of such outstanding quality is truly exciting.”
