McLaren F1 #063 to take pride of place at Hampton Court

September 05, 2019driversclub

McLaren Special Operations (MSO) have been hard at work on a very special renovation, with the fruits of their labour to be unveiled at this year’s Hampton Court Concours d’Elegance.

Over 18 painstaking months, the team of engineers at MSO have breathed new life into an iconic McLaren F1.

A labour of love for MSO

Chassis number #063 will now take pride of place at this bustling event, with guests privileged to see this amazing model in all its original glory.

Ansar Ali, managing director at MSO, commented: “Following an extensive restoration, which was very much a labour of love for our team, it’s an honour to now display chassis #063 at the Hampton Court Concours d’Elegance.

“With the work the team has carried out, this car will continue to fulfil the original brief for the McLaren F1; to create the world’s finest road car.”

Just 106 McLaren F1s were built between 1993 and 1998, making them especially rare today. Chassis #063 is one of just 64 standard models built during this time.

The Hampton Court Concours d’Elegance will take place from September 6th to 8th.

Steve Clarke, marketing manager at Drivers Club News, comments: “The McLaren F1 is arguably one of the greatest cars of all time. It was instantly a classic when released in the ’90s and, as time goes by, it becomes more iconic with each passing year.”
